blissful mayapur

It was a blissful trip to Mayapur,my fathers place when my father was around. Before I left home I prayed to our Gaura Nitai to please take care of us properly at his place and not like the way I take care of him..He listened to my prayers. Be it stay, travel, food..every single arrangement was pucca. We felt so much at home. Rajapur Jagannath was very merciful on us. We spent quite some time at his place and the devotees were very sweet and lovely.

On the whole it was an awesome trip with lots of realisation. Hope I dont forget them.

JBS...

Jagannath Baladev and Subadra ma came home today.Called the mj who have sent them to us and thanked her.I just saw them through the cover they have been packed...They are so small and so sweet.Love them. Waiting for them to take their place in their altar. Hope they make us serious in our service to Guru.

Had so much of work to do for the trip. Im just done and packed everything. I feel Iam becoming so attached and hence sensitive. I felt so hurt today & was in tears when some one just avoided me. Im just meditating that this trip helps me to overcome this anartha and be just focused on my DS.

Krsna pls help me..Im finding it difficult to overcome this attachment...let this impedement in my path of DS go away.

Sri Rama-ekadasi

Today is Sri Rama-ekadasi, the date on which Srila Prabhupada completed his translation of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, at Hare Krishna Land, Juhu, Bombay. At the end, he wrote his “Concluding Words”—a beautiful glorification of his spiritual master—which would be most appropriate to read and relish on this occasion.

No one is irreplacable..

Day before yesterday was my material fathers srarddha ceremony. It has been 15+ years since I lost my father.  He was such a lovable, caring father treating me like a princess and I was like a Daddys daughter. It was a disaster when he left his body then. Well but now I realise no conditioned soul is irreplacable, be it you or me. Time will heal anything and everything. Krsna will make Some one or other to act as his instrument in the hands of the lord and everything will be taken care.

Anyway ...Srila Prabhupada says the following on Sraddha ceremony - "What is that prayojana? To get son. Marriage means to get son. That is prayojana. Putrayate kriyate bharyah. Bharya means wife. One has to accept a bharya, a wife, why? Putrayate. For the matter of getting a son. Why? Why there is necessity of getting a son? Putra-pinda-prayojanam. This is Vedic civilization. Putra. Putra means Pun-namno narakad yasmat trayate iti putra. Pu-tra. Pu means pun-namno narakat. There is a hell which is called put. So from that hellish condition, one who delivers, trayate iti tra, therefore he is called putra. This is... Every Sanskrit word has got meaning, root meaning. Putra. Putra-pinda-prayojanam. Putra is required. Why? After death, if by chance the father does not get ordinary life or goes to the hellish condition of life, the son will deliver. Therefore sraddha ceremony. There is sraddha... What is that sraddha ceremony? Sraddha ceremony means to offer foodstuff to Visnu, and with the prasadam, to the forefathers or father it is offered so that by eating prasadam, if he is in ghost life or in hellish life, he'll be delivered. This is called sraddha. So it is the duty of the son, to do sraddha ceremony".

My father was not so fortunate to come in touch with Krsna conscious movement. But atleast now we ensure that he gets krsna prasad during his Sraddha ceremony. For sure it should be helping him somewhere though we couldnt realise with our material senses.

Well whats the process for others ?

Srila Prabhupada continues, devarsi-bhutapta-nrnam pitrnam nayam rni na kinkaro rajan sarvatmana yah saranam saranyam gato mukundam parihrtya kartam [SB 11.5.41], Anyone who is fully engaged in Krsna's service, he has no other duty. He has finished all other duties. Tepus tapas te [SB 3.33.7]. This is the injunction of the sastra. He's no more anyone's servant, or he has got any duty to do -- saranam saranyam -- because he has taken the shelter of the ultimate Supreme Person. This is the injunction of the sastra. So this sraddha ceremony is not required for a devotee fully surrendered to the lotus feet of Krsna. Gato mukundam saranam saranyam. Saranyam: He is the only shelter. And who has taken shelter of Krsna, he has no other duty. This is the sastra.

why do we lack faith?

Gour Govinda swami maharaj's lecture on faith...Inspiring..

Strong determination and strong faith is most important. Nothing is impossible. Krishna is always there to help you. He is there in your heart. He will test how strong your faith is in Him. Your faith is shaking; it is not strong. How determined are you? Krishna creates everything. His will is supreme. By His mere desire creation, maintenance, and destruction take place. We are completely dependent on His will. Bhaktivinoda says in Sarangati (3.4.7) tomara icchaya achi nirbhara koriya --- “I am completely dependent on Your will, O Krishna.” So Krishna says, “Okay, I will test your faith, to see if you are really completely dependent on My will.” But you are lacking faith and Krishna knows, “Oh, he has no faith. He only speaks from the lips. In his heart he has no faith.”

Everything takes place according to the will of Krishna. If He doesn’t will, a blade of grass will not shake. So it is a question of faith. But why do we lack faith? Dhruva immediately put strong faith. He was not afraid of any situation. “Where is Narayan? Where is Narayan!” But we can’t put faith. What is the reason? Why are these small children able to have faith, but adults cannot? It is because you are crooked and they are simple. A child is very simple, but as soon as he grows up and associates with adults, those who are very crooked, he develops crookedness. Otherwise, in the beginning a child is very simple. Simplicity is vaisnavism. All our acaryas have said this. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami stresses on this; saralata hi vaisnavata—simplicity is vaisnavism. Real vaisnavas are a simple as a child. There is no question of crookedness, duplicity or pretentiousness in them. But our heart is full of these things. We are not al all simple-hearted persons. We are very crooked. Duplicity, crookedness, and pretentiousness are in you. But Krishna is in your heart. He knows what is in you; you cannot cheat Him. Therefore we say that sadhu-guru-mahajan are patita pavana, not kapati-pavana---they are the saviors of the fallen, not saviors of the crooked.

Some persons say, “Shall I just have blind faith? Shall I not think anything? Shall I not apply my intelligence, my deliberation? Should I just put blind faith in whatever sadhu and sastra say?”

They say, “We have our own intelligence. We must think very seriously before we can accept.”

How can you deliberate on what Krishna says, what sastra says , what the mahajanas say? They have no defects. You are a conditioned soul with four defects; bhrama (tendency to commit mistakes), pramada (the tendency to be illusioned), vipralipsa (the tendency to cheat), and karanapatava (imperfect senses). Your senses are defective. The thoughts in your mind are defective. What you perceive through your senses is defective.

“There is no Sadhu Present”

You say, “Oh! we have been cheated so many times. Now we won’t put faith in anyone. No sadhus are there. We don’t see any sadhu.”

Can you see a sadhu? Do you have the vision to see a sadhu? You are a conditioned soul. You have defective vision. How can you see a sadhu? You have developed this motto, “Seeing is believing.” You say, “ If I see, then I will believe. Can you show me? Can you show me the Lord? Then I will believe.”

But you are not prepared to admit that you are blind. You have no vision to see the Lord. Even if I show you the Lord, how can you see without vision? You are not prepared to admit your shortcoming. You are such a crooked, pretentious, duplicitous person. You are always trying to hide your defects. You are not prepared to admit them. This is proof that you are not at all simple. You are a crooked person. Be simple! If you just once say with an open heart, “Krishna I am Yours!” then immediately Krishna will accept you. He is there in your heart, but you can’t cry out to Him. Your heart if filled with such filth, such duplicity and crookedness. You are never simple. And Krishna knows it.

This is the reason why you cannot develop strong faith. Now you want to see sadhu. You say, “We don’t see any sadhus. There are no sadhus.

If there is no sadhu, then how are things going on? This is Kali-yuga, the most sinful and degraded age. Still there is ekapad-dharma, one-legged religion, therefore things are continuing. Otherwise everything would have been finished, destroyed. In Satya-yuga dharma had four legs. In Treta-yuga three legs were there. In Dvarpara-yuga two legs were there, and in Kali-yuga there is one leg. Because this one leg of dharma is present, things are going on and we are all here.

The holy name came---this is the yuga-dharma for Kali-yuga. But we have no faith, no belief in it. We are such crooked persons. We have no simplicity. We only speak with the lips while something else is in the heart. This simplicity is vaisnavism It is the only thing required. Make your heart simple. Drive out, throw out all this filth, crookedness, duplicity, and pretentiousness, and immediately you will get Krishna.

Krishna emphasizes this sraddha in many places in the Gita: Chapter four, text 39 states: sraddhaval labhate jnanam---“A faithful person quickly obtains transcendental knowledge.” In chapter nine, text three, Krishna states: asraddadhanah purusa aprapya mam nivartante mrtyu-samsara-vartmani ---.Those who have no sraddha, no faith, cannot approach Me. Again and again they will fall down here to this mrtyu-samsara, world of death.

Sadhus Have No Defects

Those who have vision, they see and they say, arya-vijna-vakya nahi dosa catustaya—the words of the mahajanas, sadhus, are free from the four defects. Why don’t you put unflinching faith in their words? You say, “I must think about it first. I must deliberate on what they say. If I am convinced then I will apply it.”--- This is all duplicity, crookedness, lack of faith! You are not prepared to admit that you have four defects. Your senses are defective, how can you see? You think, “I am the seer. I will see.” But you are not the seer. You have defective vision. How can you see a sadhu who is free from defects and exists on the transcendental platform? He is in the fourth dimension. You are limited to three dimensions: length, breadth and height. Can your material mind conceive the fourth dimension? Then how can you say, “If I see, only then I will accept?” Nonsense! Such nonsense! You can only act on faith. Nothing else.

In the story I told, the mother instructed and the child put faith in her words. The mother is authority and the child is simple. Sadhu, mahajana, and sastra are authority. But you have no faith in them. How can you get Krishna? Faith is the most important thing. Even if you put blind faith, still you will be delivered because sadhu mahajanas are free from defects. What they say is real truth---mahajana yei kahe, sei satya mani (Cc. Madhya 25.56). Suppose you put blind faith in sadhu’s words and you go to hell; then sadhu-mahajan will go to hell to deliver you. But by your manipulations, politics, and duplicity, even if you elevate yourself to the position of Brahmaloka, Satyaloka, still you will fall from there and you cannot be delivered by sadhu-mahajana.

One who is very simple, immediately puts strong unflinching faith, immediately surrenders, and immediately is accepted by Krishna. That is what is needed. Simplicity is vaisnavism, but we are lacking that thing.

You should take example from mahajanas like Rupa and Sanatana Goswami. How simple they are! Once a very puffed-up, proud pandit came to see them. He was traveling everywhere, challenging and trying to defeat others. That pandit came to Sanatana Gosvami and Rupa Goswami and said, “You debate with me. If I am victorious then you will sign a certificate of defeat and if you defeat me then I will sign a certificate that you have defeated me.” Rupa and Sanatana immediately said, “No, we will give you a certificate. Please go, dandavats. Yes, we are defeated. You are victorious” This is simplicity.

Jada Bharat and the Dacoits

Jada Bharat was also simple in this way. A group of dacoits were searching for a nice human being to sacrifice so that Kali would be pleased and they could get a benediction from her. They found Jada Bharat sitting in a cornfield. He was very strong, stout, and good-looking. They thought he would be very nice for sacrifice. Jada Bharat was like a madman --- dumb and callous like an animal. Just like the butcher taking an animal to the slaughterhouse, the dacoits took him to be sacrificed. Jada Bharat went with no protest, just like a simple child. He was such an elevated paramahamsa! The dacoits bathed him and put new clothes on him. The put vermilion on is forehead. Then they asked him, “Please bow down here.” Like a simple child he did what they said. Then they raised a sword to cut off his head.

Kali is a vaisnava, a maidservant of Krishna. Seeing their activity, she said, “What are these rascals dacoits doing?” Kali suddenly came out from deity with a sword in her hand and chopped off the heads of those dacoits and Jada Bharat was saved.

Nevertheless you are thinking, “Shall I put faith blindly? Shall I not think about it? Shall I not deliberate on it?” You are saying like that because you have no faith. Because duplicity and crookedness is there in your heart. You are not simple.

One who is very simple is really surrendered. He is a real sadhu, and he is protected. This simplicity is lacking in you. You think, “I will see.” But you are not the seer. Krishna is the seer; sadhu is the seer. You are to be seen. But you are thinking just the opposite, “I will be the seer and the sadhu will be seen.” What is this nonsense? They are the seer---Krishna is the seer, sadhu is the seer. You have to be seen. When they cast their merciful glance on you, then your good fortune arises. You become fortunate, subhagya. But you are thinking, “I am the seer.” Just the opposite. That’s the whole problem, nothing else.

Travelogue

Had a short trip to my native place with my best devotee friend, Gpp. As usual he was super punctual and we were in train station an hour before :( . Thanks to railways, the train was in the platform with A/C on. It was a 4 hrs journey till Ariyalur. We listened to SP lecture, read Gauranga book , chanted , had prasadam which we had packed and blissfully slept for sometime :).

It was another hour drive from Ariyalur to my place, thiruvaiyaru. Since we couldn't get a cab, we took an auto. It was around 5:45PM when we got in. It was too cloudy when we started and after 15 mins drive, it became pitch dark. Then we realised that the auto neither had a wiper nor a headlight and to add to all that, the driver was drunk. We ensured our tulasi mala was with us and we started chanting :) He was driving really crazy and we narrowly escaped from getting hit by a lorry once and later almost banged a huge tree.hmmmmm..He was a powerful preacher :)

We reached home and got refreshed. My perimma had made a big golu at her place. We ate a heavy meals at night .Bought a dress each for myself and gpp, and the day ended.

Next day was my nephew's first birthday. They started the function around 6 AM. I woke up just when all the priest started coming. It was raining, so had to miss my cauvery bath. My people still treat me like a kid :( Had a heavy breakfast, lunch and snacks. We did a little kirtan during the function. We also had a short lecture on glories of holy name by one of the devotee whom my brother had invited. We took rest for sometime and we went to take darshan of Lord Nrsimha dev. This is the only temple which we dont miss whenever we visit my native. Such a huge deity. We did kirtans there and finished the remaining rounds there. Nrsimha dev was super merciful and we were given pongal and sundal.

We went to my uncle's house who has been not doing well for quite sometime. We had our dinner at his place. Insisted a little on chanting. We boarded our bus at 9:45 pm and the bus started at 10:30. The worst part of the whole was this return journey . They played 3 movies, non stop and the volume was so very high. Had a little sleep and reached home around 6 AM.

Back to our routine, chanting, cooking, office.Tomorrow is holiday for me, so have to compensate my rest then...

The devotional service of the Supreme Lord is the only process by which all problems of all classes of men can be solved.

Tiresome long days.... I may be moving to a new module in my office which is again gonna take up more time for learning and would be more challenging..adhybautika , adding to it is this my dry eyes problem.Finding it very difficult to stare the system for a longer time but that is part of my job. Couldn't help (adhyatmika).

While I was thinking on how this material world is full of sufferings,  my mom called to tell me, how my uncle who was hale and healthy suddenly became sick with kidney failure . Well ,nothing is Permanent also

So I went back and read couple of Bhagavad gita slokas about material world
duhkhalayam asasvatam (BG 8:15) ,anityam asukham´ lokam (BG 9:33)

mam upetya punar janma
duhkhalayam asasvatam
napnuvanti mahatmanah
sam´siddhim´ paramam´ gatah
After attaining Me, the great souls, who are yogīs in devotion, never return to this temporary world, which is full of miseries, because they have attained the highest perfection.

kim´ punar brahmanah punya
bhakta rajarsayas tatha
anityam asukham´ lokam
imam´ prapya bhajasva mam

How much more this is so of the righteous brāhmaṇas, the devotees and the saintly kings. Therefore, having come to this temporary, miserable world, engage in loving service unto Me.

Srila Prabhupada explains this is a place -- you cannot avoid these miseries. They are meant for that. Unless the miseries are there, you cannot come to the Krsna consciousness. That is an impetus and help to elevate you to Krsna consciousness. You cannot make a solution of the misery of your life by artificial intoxication. That is not possible. You have to make the solution by this Krsna consciousness. If you always remain in Krsna consciousness, then gradually you'll develop and you will be able to leave or quit your, this material body in Krsna consciousness, so that immediately you'll be transferred to the planet where Krsna is. That is the process. So mam upetya. And if you can attain that situation, that is the perfection.

Let all the miseries be a stepping stone towards my perfection.Off to bed now hope my eyes are better tomorrow.

Humbleness personified - Jai Srila prabhupada

The way Srila Prabhupada exhibited the opulence of humility is beyond our imagination. Though he was the spiritual master for the whole world, he was the associate of Krsna, the most popular personality controlling the Lord he was still humble.

Srila Prabhupada mentions in one of his lecture "An advanced devotee, they're always so humble and meek, they always think of himself as worthless." The more one advances spiritually , the more he becomes humble. And here is a verse sampling Srila Prabhupada's humbleness - the most advanced devotee.

 SB 4.12.33

iti vyavasitaḿ tasya
vyavasāya surottamau
darśayām āsatur devīḿ
puro yānena gacchatīm
SYNONYMS
iti — thus; vyavasitam — contemplation; tasya — of Dhruva; vyavasāya — understanding; sura-uttamau — the two chief associates; darśayām āsatuḥ — showed (to him); devīm — exalted Sunīti; puraḥ — before; yānena — by airplane; gacchatīm — going forward.
TRANSLATION
The great associates of Vaikuṇṭhaloka, Nanda and Sunanda, could understand the mind of Dhruva Mahārāja, and thus they showed him that his mother, Sunīti, was going forward in another plane.
PURPORT
This incident proves that the śikṣā- or dīkṣā-guru who has a disciple who strongly executes devotional service like Dhruva Mahārāja can be carried by the disciple even though the instructor is not as advanced. Although Sunīti was an instructor to Dhruva Mahārāja, she could not go to the forest because she was a woman, nor could she execute austerities and penances as Dhruva Mahārāja did. Still, Dhruva Mahārāja was able to take his mother with him. Similarly,Prahlāda Mahārāja also delivered his atheistic father, Hiraṇyakaśipu. The conclusion is that a disciple or an offspring who is a very strong devotee can carry with him to Vaikuṇṭhaloka either his father, mother or śikṣā- or dīkṣā-guru. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura used to say, "If I could perfectly deliver even one soul back home, back to Godhead, I would think my mission — propagating Kṛṣṇa consciousness — to be successful." The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is spreading now all over the world, and sometimes I think that even though I am crippled in many ways, if one of my disciples becomes as strong as DhruvaMahārāja, then he will be able to carry me with him to Vaikuṇṭhaloka.

Sense Gratification in Devotional Service

I was contemplating on one of the service which was given to me and I refused to do it. I happened to come across a website and it said that the real challenge in devotional service is to do something which you do not want to do. To do devotional service which you like is also a kind of sense gratification. And with such mentality reaching the destination is tough. But this time it was late when I wanted to correct my mistake. Krsna arranged alternative teaching me a lesson. I hope I will not repeat this again.

Long weekend

Sep 30th 2012

Had a blissful Smrti Radhashtami this weekend.VNp & BMp came all the way from Bangalore to give us association. Its so inspiring to see such devotees, who take so much austerity to please Gurumaharaj. Lot of new people were there and they enjoyed the programme as well. We had abhishek for our Gaura Nitai. Wish we organise such abhishek in a much proper way though. There were quite a lot of mess.

We had a very simple but super tasty prasadam(kichadi, fryams and sweet rice). Gpp made 3 layered cake for Radharani. He is becoming expert. The house where we conducted the programme was pretty small & we were anxious as to how we can accomodate 85+ crowd. Later We realized how Radharani expanded such a small house and had all the 85+ devotees. It was around 12 midnight when We went to take rest. We dont have any bigger programs lining up in near future. I'm meditating that this period should be used to help the members qualitatively grow more closer to Gurumaharaj and I do the do's that I wrote before.

Oct 1

VNp mercifully stayed with us for altar opening program, which we had planned on Oct 2, and extended his stay till end of the day on request. I didn't want to miss his association and took off.He has so much ideas and Im admiring the way he is handling the situation. So much to learn from him. Realised its so very difficult to complete rounds if we miss it in the morning. This was not a new thing but still I keep repeating the same mistake. We purchased the required ingredients for the next day program. As always I missed the basic items in all the 3 bhoga which we planned :(

Oct 2nd

After a real long wait Rajapur JBS,ND and Gaura Nitai got into their new house on Oct 2nd. We had handful of devotees who had come for Altar opening. We had a sweet kirtan and vnp gave a short class on Kaliyuga and how powerful mahamantra is. He had a very interactive session with members to know their concerns. He put things so nicely on how everything is working under Gurumaharaj's "Love and Trust" concept and that all of us belong to "Krsna kutumpa". We made Simply wonderful, malaysian kurma and corn pulav. All came well by Radharani's mercy and vnp's careful cooking.

Well, right now doing arati and cleaning the new altar is super exciting.

Do's for me.........

1. Follow the 4 regulative principles
2. Chant properly infront of the deities or tulasi or with SP or GM
3. No browsing of internet while chanting
4. Read Bhagavatam daily
5. Be humble and behave matured.
6. Always remember service is meant to please only Gurumaharaj and always find a way to serve him.
7. Tolerate the material disturbances

Anxious night and day.

Everything seem to went Ok for our Radhashtami celebration until yesterday. A heavy rain made all the confusion. It was an anxious night and half a day where everything was uncertain. But in a way it was good where even I prayed the lord asking for help. Merciful Gaura Nitai. My mentor told me not to react for the situation for half a day.It was a biggest austerity. I was looking at the watch for 12 o clock to strike as though Im going to launch a rocket to start reacting :) (this is what i do for half day fasting...)

But suddenly things started settling down on its own. Today exactly when GM would have reached Chennai, everything got resolved and we are all set again.May be our problem is the first one which GM would have addressed as soon as he reached our place :) Tried to catch up with the pending follow up calls. Gpp became busy training the kids for the program.Blissful in GM's vani seva.

Hoping to see my merciful father tomorrow.

A blissful Radhashtami..

Started the day with Mayapur Mangala arati. Radharani was so beautifully dressed up.Then we had Mangala arati to wake up our Gaura Nitai. Did our Chanting and took darshan of GuruMaharaj. Cooked 11 items for the pleasure of Gaura Nitai on Radhashtami day. They took their bath and had a feast.Red everywhere.Consciously I kept more bhoga :)

GN had cake for noon.

Evening we had a small celebration where 32 people turned up. Nice altar arrangement was made. Red everywhere :) Most of them fasted 1/2 days for Radharani's birthday. We had a small kirtan, GPP gave a pravachan, Q and A session, Maha arati, Cake cutting and we served prasad. It was short and sweet 2 hrs program.

All glories to GuruMaharaj who can use even a incapable servant like us in his service.

I'm rich

My initial understanding of anartha was all what I learnt in my moral science classes . No stealing, No hurting, No lieing etc..After coming to KC, 3 to 4 years ago when a devotee told me that we are filled with anarthas, I did not bother about it much, not because I agreed but my mentality was Iam good just that this devotee doesnt know :).

Then later as I started associating with devotees I realised anarthas list was not simple. It is such a huge list - False ego,Doubts, fault finding nature, enviousness, fear, challenging spirit, Duplicitous ,defending, desire for name and fame,Material attachment, Pride, speculative interpretation, Depression, self pity, sentimentality , anger etc.Now I understand Im very rich atleast in having these anarthas as I can see my name under each anarthas.

Anartha nivrtti process is also not so easy.Identifying, understanding, accepting and act according to the instruction given by seniors.Every step hurts. Tolerant devotees they know my anarathas and still adjust, acknowledge and try to engage me in my own Guru's service.

Scripture says it is sheer mandate to come to the stage of anartha-nivritti, the stage where all
unclean things are cleansed from the heart. But prabhupada gives us a simple solution for all the anarthas in one shot - If one is actually executing devotional service, then anarthas, the unwanted things associated with material enjoyment, will automatically disappear.

Will I be serious in KC if I know my life span ?

janāḥ sukṛtino 'rjuna
ārto jijñāsur arthārthī
jñānī ca bharatarṣabha

"Out of these there are four classes of men-those who are sometimes distressed, those who are in need of money, those who are sometimes inquisitive, and those who are sometimes searching after knowledge of the Absolute Truth. These persons come to the Supreme Lord for devotional service under different conditions. (BG 7.16)"

Yesterday we met a family who were under tremendous material suffering. A 10 year old boy who was very active, is now counting his days due to a life threatening disease. And the doctor has warned that the next child of that family may also have a similar disease. Poor parents. But everyone was glorifying the mother, for she takes so much care for her diseased son. I felt so sorry for that family and for a moment, I felt the urgency of preaching and reaching this Krsna consciousness to more people & to that grieving family in particular. Srila Prabhupad says in SB 6.16.6

The same living entity sometimes takes shelter of an animal father and mother and sometimes a human father and mother. Sometimes he accepts a father and mother among the birds, and sometimes he accepts a demigod father and mother. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu therefore says:

brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva
guru-krishna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija

Harassed life after life by the laws of nature, the living entity wanders throughout the entire universe in different planets and different species of life. Somehow or other, if he is fortunate enough, he comes in touch with a devotee who reforms his entire life. Then the living entity goes back home, back to Godhead. Therefore it is said:

Janame janame sabe pita mata paya
krishna guru nahi mile baja hari ei

In the transmigration of the soul through different bodies, everyone, in every form of life -- be it human, animal, tree or demigod -- gets a father and mother. This is not very difficult. The difficulty is to obtain a bona fide spiritual master and Krishna. Therefore the duty of a human being is to capture the opportunity to come in touch with Krishna's representative, the bona fide spiritual master. Under the guidance of the spiritual master, the spiritual father, one can return home, back to Godhead.

Krsna's mercy we are doing super good when compared to so many people around us. I feel that my family is being taken good care of by our Gurumaharaj H.H.Jayapataka swami. Hope we be intelligent enough to make hay while the sun shines.
